Counter Strike New Revealed
Valve finally announced Counter Strike New after weeks of rumors. It's a major update for CS:GO that will put it on the Source 2 engine.
It also introduces responsive smoke grenades and sub-tick updates for servers. It's got a lot of armchair gamers going crazy but it is an incredible improvement for the average player.
Smokes
Counter Strike New is getting an overhaul that will completely change the method of using smokes in the game. The changes are being described as responsive smokes and are a huge game changer. Smokes will expand to fill spaces and move across the map in a variety of ways. They will also react to the lighting of the game, making them look better and more realistic. In addition to these new features, smokes will be capable of interfacing with game events that will provide new tactical possibilities. For instance, bullets can force smoke to briefly clear sightlines, and Hex grenade explosions will disperse smoke occlusion.
Smokes are now more dynamic in the game. In the past, smokes were a fixed shape that was limited in the distance they could go and how much vision it blocked. The new smokes will now grow to fill the space they are in and will block more of the player's vision when they are in it. This is a significant change that will make the game more dynamic and will give both teams the same view.
Additionally, smokes will now react to the surroundings, weaponry, and lighting in the world. This makes smoke more realistic and offer players different ways to use it to gain an edge over their opponents. This will especially be beneficial in the chaotic 5v5 matches that are likely to occur on every map.
case opening are no longer one-way. This was a major issue in CSGO, since it allowed players to see the position of their opponent from behind the smoke. Twistzz is a well-known CS:GO professional who says the new system makes CS2 more fair for both teams.
Other minor enhancements include adjusting smoke particles vertically to decrease the visible edges, and updating the spectator's smoke overlay images so that they match their camera's position. Also, the expiration of smokes has been updated to be more in line with the visuals of how they fade onto the screen.
Loadouts

The players of CS:GO are able to customize their weapon choice before the start of every game. The updated loadout system lets players to select the weapons that best match their playstyle and team's strategies. The new system also adds new tactical depth to the game because players must balance power and utility.
The CS: GO Update includes numerous additional improvements and modifications in addition to the new loadouts. The most important is that the buy menu has been completely overhauled. The old buy wheel was replaced with an adjustable grid that displays all purchase options simultaneously. The grid is populated with five pistols, five "mid-tier" weapons like shotguns and submachine guns, and five rifles and carbines.
The new system will be simple to use, and give players more control over the weapon they choose. It will let them pick the weapons that fit their playstyle and team strategy the best, aswell as experiment with different combinations. They can also compare their gear with other players and observe how well they stack up.
While many players appreciate the flexibility it offers, some have been critical of it for straying from the core essence of Counter-Strike. They also have raised concerns about how it will affect loadouts specific to maps and skins for agents dependent on visibility.
In spite of these criticisms the new loadout system will be tested more thoroughly in the coming months. It is possible that some of these issues may be addressed in future updates, so it is vital to stay tuned for more details.
In addition to the brand new CS: GO features, the update also comes with Workshop Tools, which can be enabled in the game's settings menu. These tools allow community contributors to design weapons' finishes, stickers and maps. The update will also ban players who violate VAC rules during matches.
The latest CS: GO update is set to be released later this summer. Players can now check out the complete list of new features and upgrades by visiting the official CS: GO site.
Sub-Tick Updates
The server updates the world of Counter-Strike in short intervals of time referred to as ticks. Valve is determined to ensure that CS: GO is responsive and smooth. The smallest delay could impact the accuracy of an attack. A new video reveals one of the biggest under-the-hood improvements, known as sub-tick updates.
Rather than an update of 64 ticks every millisecond, CS Go will now be able make use of sub-ticks (or as Valve calls them, "micro-ticks") to communicate with the server. Each of these tiny increments of time will be recorded by the client and transmitted to the server, which will transmit the updated game state to players. The servers will now know exactly moment you fired your shot or jumped, peeked or made other inputs.
The video doesn't cover everything. However, it does explain that each piece of data sent by the client has a timestamp and that the server will gather all information in chronological order from all players before sending it back. According to the video a CS: GO will be able send twice as much data than a 64-tick CS: GO.
This means that even if the tick rate of the game is increased to 128 Hz, the game will still be able handle your commands instantly. Micro-tick updates can also reduce input lag, ensuring that the server responds to your actions without glitches or delays.
It's evident that this is just the beginning of the technical improvements Valve is making to the game. The company is working on dynamic smoke and particle systems to improve the way smoke interacts with the environment, and it's updating all maps with high-resolution lighting, textures and models. All CS: GO weapons and cosmetics will also get a facelift with Source 2 tools and features.
Maps
The new update coming to Counter Strike New will bring new maps to the game, along with a few classics that are being given facelifts. The updates are currently being tested in a limited-test beta. The first set of maps includes touchstone and upgrade maps that will not see major changes to gameplay, whereas others have been renovated or redesigned using the new Source 2 tools.
Overpass is one of these maps that has been revamped to make use of the new engine's unified light system. The map's eerie underpass has been flooded with light which makes the area more spacious and less congested. Smoke grenades are now expanding dynamically to fill spaces and interact with the light.
Italy is a different map that has been reworked. Its texture, lighting, and structure have been significantly improved. The new version has a more balanced feel than its predecessor which was heavily CT focused. Fans can expect more classics, including Aztec and Militia which will be updated in the future.
These maps won't be added to the map pool for competitive play, even though they are still playable. The only exception is Train which has been pulled out of Active Duty and will continue to be played in tournaments. Valve hasn't yet decided whether the other maps that were removed from the pool will be reintroduced.
Helsingin Sanomat is the national newspaper of Finland. The newspaper's latest update has been deemed controversial. The newspaper has been open in its criticism of Russia's actions against Ukraine. This map is based off of the war-torn Donetsk. The map is dubbed de_voyna and contains numerous references to the conflict.
In the future the developer will be releasing a collection of Source 2 tools for community map creators to use in their own creations. This will include features like improved lighting and character reading, as well physical-based rendering systems that creates realistic materials and textures. It will also make real-world objects like windows and doors, easier to create. The update is set to be released sometime in the summer.
